Quality of Life Services

Along with our core veterinary services, Companion Pet Clinic of Arizona offers pet maintenance and quality of life services to help with some of the more unsavory tasks — while keeping your pet looking and feeling great.

For dogs, we offer anal gland expression to help avoid discomfort and nail trimming for dogs and cats to keep nails well-groomed. Leave some of these more unpleasant and anxiety-inducing elements of pet care to professionals with expertise.

Our technicians are experienced in restraining pets without causing pain or anxiety. It is our goal to provide top-quality care for your pets in a stress-free environment.

Anal Gland Expression for Dogs

Is your dog scooting or paying extra attention to its behind? They may need anal gland expression — one of the more unpleasant tasks of pet ownership.

All dogs have two small pouches which collect secretions in their behind. These are usually released when your dog defecates, but some dogs (especially small or toy breeds) may have difficulty expressing this substance. Assistance may be required.

A yearly exam is required to book an anal gland expression appointment.

Nail Trimming for Dogs & Cats

Nail trimming isn't just a cosmetic service for your dog or cat. Letting your pet's nails grow too long can cause discomfort, long term health issues and destruction to your furniture.

However, trimming your pet's nails or claws is often anxiety-ridden or unenjoyable for both you and your pet. While you can do it at home, if your pet is particularly anxious about the trimming process or you need help, our vets are here for you.

Proof of a rabies shot is required to book a nail trimming appointment.
